about

Barry M
Barnett

Mr. Barnett is a partner in the firm, handling only Personal Injury cases.  With over 30 years experience, he has broad knowledge of all aspects of personal injury and auto accident law.  He also well-versed in insurance policy questions - with the primary objective of making the  insurance companies pay what they owe and treat accident victims with respect.   Whether it involves repairing the damage to your car or compensation for devastating, life-altering injuries, he is always proud of his work as a trial lawyer.

Mr. Barnett actually began his legal career working as a defense lawyer - representing the same types of corporations and large insurance companies he now sues.   It was excellent training and he was good at it, but he found that victims of accidents often did not get the full compensation they deserved.  After a few years, therefore, he decided to switch sides and to start representing injured individuals.  His experience, however, gives him a unique understanding of how insurance companies behave and how to win against them.

Mr. Barnett is originally from New Orleans where he attended Benjamin Franklin Senior High School and the University of New Orleans.  His law degree is from LSU (Paul M. Hebert School of Law) in Baton Rouge.   He was first admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1986 and has been admitted to practice before all Courts in Louisiana, both State and Federal. He has practiced pro hac vice before federal courts in Texas, Mississippi and Alabama. Mr. Barnett is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the Louisiana Bar Association and the Alexandria Bar Association (President, 2005-06).
